first few days here

Well, I thought I had written that we had arrived, but I guess not. We arrived last Thursday afternoon around 1pm out time.(2 hours difference from NH time). Our friends had the power and water all turned on , the fridge working a a great meal in it for us. Linda wanted to come in and clean and ensure the place was ready before we brought a lot of stuff in , last year I just hauled everything in and dumped it and by george this year we would clean and then bring things in, in a orderly fastion and put them away as we went.  sounded good to me so I waited and then satrted unloading the camper. It didn't take long to realize we had brought more stuff than we had comfortable room for, so i just hauled it in and dumper it, in a semi orderly fashion.  well here it is Sunday evening and most everything has a home and the place looks pretty good.
The yard was so overgrown that I have taken from Friday until today to get it pretty well pruned and trimmed. I should have taken pictures before I started. The palm tree had branches hanging to the ground, The agave had stems out into the street, the Bougainvillea was all over the place, to say nothing of our tall hedge as way tall and growing into the neighbors driveway.  I did somehow get into these tiny Cactus thorns while cutting them back so Linda had to take the tweezers and pull them out as best she could. I figure they will wear off before I get back to the NE.
we had gotten a broken/cracked windshield coming across the country and I hd called the insurance co and the glass people we expected to be here on Saturday between 7am and 5 pm. well late into the afternoon they called and said the glass they had was damaged and they would be out Monday. wish I had known that earlier in the day and we could have gone shopping. tomorrow it's supposed to be between 7 and 11 am. we will see.
Linda continues her daily morning walks and usually does about 3 - 4 miles. She had asked that I walk at least 1 mile a day while we are here, trying to get me in better shape, so yesterday I did 9 /10s but today I did 1 mile this am and another mile this evening. It takes me forever as I just slunder along and stop and chat with everyone, but I am doing it.
the weather has been very nice. 60-65 at 6am and low 8o's during the day. we actually had windows open last nite. love it!!!  I have already been approached to do a few odd jobs but haven't agreed to any yet. got to get settled in and as I explain " I'm retired" so don't jump into anything. ps I am still one of the younger folks in the park.
here are a couple of pictures of my trimmings.
